I accidently bumped into a list that had been published by The Observer Music Monthly, in December. It was a list of 50 best albums in 2007. I was glad to notice that our last album Take It With Me was on that list as number 47. That’s better than Britney! Check it out here.

On tour in the UK...

We, the Ilmiliekki Quartet, played a tour in the UK with Solveig Slettahjell – Slowmotion Duo. The tour took the us to six different cities with different kinds of venues – everyone of them special and fantastic. The whole thing was really well organized which is why we want to specially thank Polly Eldridge and Sound UK productions for a great job. And ofcourse the organizers on the venues as well. And last but not least Quinnie the driver who was amazing with his calm and “can do” attitude to everything. They all made our experience pleasent and unforgettable. Also they made us want to visit Britain and its venues again as soon as possible.

Second album in the fall of 2006

Ilmiliekki Quartet releases their second album in the fall of 2006.
The band recorded their new album in the NILENTO-studios in Gothenburg with Lars Nilsson. The studio was great and the sounds are going to be really good. Ilmiliekki thanks Mr Nilsson for a job better than well done.

Ilmiliekki Quartet in New York

Ilmiliekki will be playing in the Lincoln Jazz Center on October 9th, 7:30 pm. The venue will be Dizzy’s Coca Cola Jazz Club. The concert is a part of a series called “Scandinavian Innovation” which is organized by the festival European Dream. A live recording will probably take place.
